Our Mission

Helping people get their focus back

Dopa Break didn’t begin as a company. It began as me, sitting at my desk at two in the morning, staring at a textbook I couldn’t read for more than a minute without reaching for my phone.

My name is Suleman Asif, and for years I watched my own mind slip away from me. I used to be able to lose myself in a book for hours. Then, slowly, that focus faded. A few sentences in and I’d feel the pull. Just one quick scroll. Just one more video. Minutes became hours, and those hours became nights I will never get back.

It all came crashing down when it mattered most. I walked into my college exams knowing the answers were in me somewhere, but I couldn’t hold my attention long enough to bring them out. I failed. I still remember the silence afterwards, the shame of letting down the people who believed in me, and the quiet, frightening thought that something inside me was broken for good.

That failure turned out to be the most important thing that ever happened to me. Instead of just blaming myself, I started asking why. I read everything I could find about attention, about dopamine, about what endless scrolling really does to the brain. And what I found changed everything: I wasn’t weak, and I wasn’t alone. Millions of people, students, workers, parents, were quietly losing the very same battle, and most of them were blaming themselves too.

So I made a promise. I would take everything I had learned and turn it into something simple that genuinely helps, and I would give it away for free. Money should never stand between a person and their own mind. Dopa Break is the tool I desperately wished I’d had back then, built so that no one else has to feel as lost as I once did.

The problem

Short-form video is engineered to capture your attention and never let it go. Over time it rewires how long you can focus, and it quietly seeps into your studies, your work, your relationships, and your peace of mind. This was never a failure of willpower. It is a habit these apps were carefully designed to build into you.

Our promise

Dopa Break will always be free. It started as one person’s way out, not a product to sell. Just small, gentle, daily reps that rebuild your attention, calm your mind, and hand you back control, a little more each day.
